EO4EP mission to Georgia

EO4EP inaugurates its activity in Georgia on December 1, 2016. During two-day meetings, the consortium was represented by GeoPulse and Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM).

The EO4EP project aims to demonstrate that current technology allows to monitor crop productivity from space, in an on-line and automated manner, including data analysis and delivery of results that cover larger geographical or administrative area. The service will visualise spatial and temporal changes in areas under cultivation. This includes overall changes in productivity in time for chosen district or physical unit, and distribution of agriculture land parcels with crop-related thematic information - crop types and their seasonal pattern.

The mission to Georgia provided the opportunity to present the service concept to the local stakeholders: local representation of FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) in Tbilisi, Georgian Ministry of Agriculture and Georgian Amelioration – a Georgian state-owned company caring out irrigation improvement and management services. The meetings also involved the representatives of the World Bank Country Office.
